Writing this with a tinge of disappointment...
After the launch of our first complete Android build version - 'Amour' on Valentine's Day, we had our plans set to pay tribute to one of the greatest innovators the world has seen in recent times by launching our iOS app on his birthday - Yesterday! Yes, I am talking about Mr. Steven Paul Jobs, the man whose inspiration has been a guiding tool for us along the product journey of Smytten. Unfortunately despite our best efforts, we'd like to let you know that the iOS app launch has been delayed by few more days. As they say the last 10% of effort required to launch something takes as much energy as the first 90%, and probably we underestimated that fact.
But I am also glad that we are doing exactly what Steve Jobs would have wanted us to do, had he been involved in the manifestation of the Smytten app - focusing on every small detail and get it just right for the user. That is one of the ideologies that we have imbibed as a team, and it remains at the very foundation of every problem solving session (and the umpteen arguments over product design.)
Simple can be harder than complex; you have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple
This sounds simple (Typical Jobs!), but as always, its easier said than done. I can't claim that we have got our thinking totally clean, but as a team we are making an earnest and sincere effort to get there. And I am convinced that someday we will get there. Borrowing from Steve again,
Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.
So today we promise to all our consumers that we will not settle until we get it right for you. Smytten is an app with an heart and we will keep bringing you more of what you love, always.
